Augmented Reality (AR) basically is a new technology in which everyone is allowed to add graphics, audios, sensations and information created by a computer onto real environment. The user seems to view the real scene but, in fact, it’s a virtual scene generated by the computer. The advantage of AR is that it can add graphics to each perspective where by contrast, a television’s static graphics technology imposed do not vary with the perspective. It’s not widely used by the public because Universities and scientists are still doing research on the development of the needed technology for AR systems.
Nowadays, we use AR technology for multipurpose as in mobiles, games, software, medical field, and even in military field. According to a survey, the first mass-produced AR systems will be in the market by the end of this decade. I hope this paragraph gives the general knowledge of AR and will be focusing more details about AR on my future posts. In my opinion, this will be a very useful technology for the future.
